My Apologies

Dear Signers Of The Declaration of Independence,

In the few years preceding 1776, your ideals and morals lead to the creation of this great Country. You risked it all. Your lives, your families, and your fortunes. You were the men of greatness, whose words still grace our lips, whose speeches have inspired for centuries, and whose valiant bravery of defiance should serve as a model for the ages. You were before your time, you were brilliant, and we are humbled by your legacies. I am sorry it was all for nothing.

You fought against the taxation of the public without a voice representing you. Today, we have one of the highest tax burdens and we have a congress that serves their own interests before our own. I did not stop it from happening. I am sorry.

You fought against a tyrannical King who publicly called you treasonous. You saw a potential for this Country. A Country that was not based on tyranny but yet rejoiced in freedom. Today, we have a government who has seized control of car companies, insurance companies, banks, and now wants free reign of our healthcare. I did not stop it from happening. I am sorry.

Your children were young and ideological. They lied about their ages to be able to fight for their freedoms against the British Army. Today, our children are lost, forgotten, complacent, and spoiled. I did not stop it from happening. I am sorry.

You wanted us to be able to worship freely without fear of persecution. You belived religion was a basis of a good society. You put God in your speeches and documents. Today, a Christian is heckled, called names by our government, and shunned for their beliefs. I did not stop it from happening. I am sorry.

You provided a structure for government. Three branches, check and balaces, so that no one person or entity has complete control. You wanted the control to remain in the hands of the people. Today, we have a plethora of Czars who are an entity of the government but yet not accountable to anyone but the White House. I did not stop it from happening. I am sorry.

You and the Patriots of this Country risked everything for us to become independent of Britain. Centuries later, we have forgotten our roots, forgotten our history, forgotten your sacrifice. We mock you with our arrogance and self absorbed nature. We allow the oppression of others. We do not stand always on the side of freedom. We have let your dream become our nightmare. I did not stop it from happening. I am sorry.

I have made mistakes. I have stood ideally by. I have not spoken for freedom, for you. I have been a part of the problem and not the solution. You deserve better. I did not change my ways. I am sorry.

No more will I do these things, and this is my vow. I will look to you for my inspiration. I will look to you for bravery. I will look to you for a model. You deserve that at the very least. I may have failed but from here on out I will not give up until we succeed. I never again want to say I am sorry. You did not mistake mediocre for greatness. Neither will I.

My Labor Day Speech

The speech I am giving in Bastrop, Texas on Labor Day.

Let’s all Pledge Allegiance to our Flag.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under God, for Liberty and Justice for all.

I have been asked here today to speak to you about Liberty. I could stand here and give you a feel good speech about how much I love my Liberty, my country and my freedom, and while it would all be true, its not the reality of today. Today our reality is not reveling in the liberties promised to us in the Constitution, but yet being violently forced into the direction of fascism and tyranny.

Liberty to me is not just a statue that stands in the harbor in New York

Liberty to me is not just a cracked bell that is housed in Pennsylvania.

Liberty to me is not just a word in the pledge we just said.

In that pledge I stated “with liberty and justice for all”. I mean those words. I want to stand beside all of you and fight for our liberties, to fight for our justice because we all deserve it as Americans.

I want to fight for our liberty to decide who provides my family and my own medical care. I want to be the one who decides how much my life is worth, because as far as I am concerned there is no price that you can put on my life, on my husbands life, or on my parents and grandparents lives.

I want to fight for our liberty to decide who, what, and how our children are taught in our schools. Our children should be taught about what this country was founded upon, about the great leaders of the past, instead of being pawns in a political scheme to lead this country to socialism.

I want to fight for our liberty to speak freely. We should have the ability to speak our minds about this administration because they are accountable to us. We have elected them to represent us. It is NOT the color of our Presidents skin that matters to me, yet how he runs this country and ONLY how he runs this country that matters. Our voices should not be stifled by them, but welcomed. They have called us un-American but what they have forgotten is that the right to speak out against them is not only a right that American was built upon, but it was so important to our founding fathers that they made it the first right.

I want to fight for our liberty to worship freely. When we said that pledge we admitted that this country is under God’s supervision. If you do not believe in God, I feel sorry you do not know His love, but your right to not know him is protected by our Constitution. In the same Constitution our right to worship without fear of persecution is protected as well. We are not extremists for being Christians, however we know the extreme love and protection of our Lord and Savior. No one will ever tell me I cannot worship Him, and I will pray for those who try to do so.

I want to fight for our liberty to have those who control my money be accountable to me. I will not stand for this administration skirting around that accountability by appointing a plethora of Czars to are accountable not to us. These Czars should be scrutinized by us for their actions in the past just as our elected officials are. We do not do this viciously, we do this because anyone who controls any part of our country should be. It is our money and our right to know who is spending it, what they are spending it on, their qualifications to do so, and how it will be spent. Today is labor day, where we remember we labored for our money and it is our right to know how the government, the federal reserve, and the new czars are spending it. The founding fathers knew if one branch of government got too much power it would be easily corruptible, and we are seeing that fear come true before our eyes.

I want to fight for the liberty to listen to those who I consider patriots of our time on our radio, television and internet. Repressing the voices of people like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity on our radios and television is not promoting diversity but yet the exact opposite. Those men speak without fear, and I consider them as models for how we all should be speaking, loudly clearly and against the tyranny destroying our country.

I want to fight for the liberty to celebrate the men and women of our United States Armed Forces for what they are. Heroes. I sacrifice my happiness everyday to give all of you the protection of my husband. He is gone from me more than he is home, and while it saddens me to have him be away, it provides me great pride to know you may all sleep soundly at night knowing he is out there making that possible. He is my personal hero and he should be considered one by the government and country he serves. He protects us all from terrorists, foreign and domestic, Never should he be called one. Never.

I want to fight for our liberty to bear arms. I have the right to defend my family. My father has never joined any organization besides that of his church yet this year he became a proud member of the NRA. I am not fighting for the right to use a gun for an un necessary violent act, but against those who seek to harm me or my family in such vicious attacks. Guns to not kill people by themselves, yet protect us from someone whose intent is to kill us.

Twenty years ago we would have found it ridiculous that any of these liberties would be in jeopardy. But they are. I have pledged to allegiance to you and to this country to fight for liberty and justice for all. I intend to keep that pledge. I want to ask you all to stand beside me as I speak and fight for these liberties. They are the foundation that this country was built upon, and while several are seeking to destroy that they will find that before they reach that foundation they will find me. Standing firmly without fear.

We the people, those of you with me here today are not un-American angry mobs. We are just the opposite. We are American as it gets. So I have one question for you all today. Will you accept the challenge of standing beside me and protecting Liberty and Justice for all?
